  • Good information.

  • Many thanks for this course.

  • Violet Rook made a comment

On some voluntary and community websites.

  • The information on such budgets should be more freely available. Everything is online now and that is a problem for many individuals who cannot get to the website of the NHS etc.

  • Local government website too.

  • I have done some training in counselling and have been involved in many other roles where it is vital to listen to individuals. Being a good listener is vital.

  • Everything about a person tells you about them. It is about listening and observing and reading the individual and appreciating them and their needs, experiences.

  • I want to do the step three course.

  • Many aspects of the course are about the needs of others and how one can apply oneself to understanding and provide empathy.

  • I am motivated to help others help themselves in all aspects of life. I try to learn myself to help others learn.

  • Showing you are genuine is always good, but being aware of the feelings of others who may take time to be relaxed about situations shows empathy and builds trust.

  • Also be understanding of your audience and when the discussion is taking place. Allow yourself and them to gain trust in each. This takes time.

  • It is about reading people and treating them with respect and being a good listener. Also remembering they are not you, and though they may have the same condition their experience is their own and also there needs.

  • It is important to note the individuality of all parties in regard to peer support. Experiential learning is acquired and helps all to be aware of each others needs.

  • Agree completely.

  • Helping is about understanding and empathy and the ability to listen. These are very rare characteristics.

  • Respect and empowerment are vital.

  • Some very useful information and facts.

  • The work of ICS will be interesting. the public needs more publicity about how they are to work in regard to all the measures outlined.

  • The different between the two terms perhaps indicates how they are considered by many individuals and therefore their actions.

  • Respect between Enablers and Health Care Professionals is so vital to the project.

  • The key feature is that individuals are not stereotyped.

  • A great idea, but how often are put into practices and help everyone who needs to be helped.

  • Many thanks for this course.

  • The real life stories help to get the message out there.

  • I am involved in many projects, but your course is very clear and gives information which although available to the public seems not be be given so clearly in many other places.. Thank you.

  • Good personal care is surely what the NHS and health care in general should be. No stereptyping of any individual.

  • Very informative.

  • Never heard of the details give here. Information does not seemed to be given freely in GP practices or hospitals.

  • There needs to be a lot more publicity given to these Personal Health Budgets.

  • This seems to be the best way of giving individual care to the person and not treating them as numbers. But there needs to be understanding and respect from all parties concerned.

  • Agree entirely with the statements about.

  • There is always a danger of stereotyping to either save time or money. This is not good for anyone patient or staff or the NHS.

  • It is all about respect and understanding of each other and the situations individuals find themselves in. This should also be the case in regard to health care professionals.

  • The CEmPaC idea looks interesting.

  • Peer support from indivduals who have shared experiences is very helpful to many people

  • I greatly approve of this model of care. But have not seen it in action very much. It views the person and the social situation.

  • I have not had experience of social prescribing. But I have been involved in many projects concerning the setting up of this aspect of care.

  • No experience personally of social prescribing. I have been involved in many community organisations who provide it.

  • I have asked about Allergy tests, and was told they do not do them. Could go private. This I thought was not the right answer.

  • Your rights as a patient are not usually put up in a GP surgery, perhaps they should be.

  • Good ideas which should give patients the support they need to provide an holistic treatment plan. But this all depends on the type of training the healthcare professionals are given and the attitudes of the said individuals to their job.

  • Holistic are helps everyone.

  • A respect on behalf of patient opinion and needs is vital in healthcare professionals. This encourages trust.

  • The more information one obtains the better. But one gets the impression one needs to know the right questions.

  • Many thanks for the information to download. This needs to be publicized more.

  • I like the idea of asking questions.

  • Looking forward to this.

  • An holistic care structure and good communication between all aspects of the health service would promote better personalized care.

  • Good community between communities and the Primary and Secondary care.

  • Gives good points in regard to individuals and their needs.

  • Health inequalities start at birth therefore good ante natal care and encouraging health education for parents is vital. Public Health policy needs to adjusted to educate in regard to basic holistic health care. This also involves understanding of personalised care both in regard to the patient and healthcare professional.

  • A great infographic and list lets hope the good things can happen.

  • I have knowledge of the practise from community and health events, but not personally.

  • Patients need time to assimilate information and their opinion respected.

  • Communication between Primary and Secondary care is often not good. There needs to be more co-operation in regard to patient care.

  • Cancer care sometimes good. But stereotyping of individuals and use of Algorithms in regard to care is worrying.

  • The statistics could hide other diseases which are hidden.

  • I am totally for personalized care, there is too much stereotyped care.

  • Very interesting discussions. The topic of where care is going, surely all the use of digital care illustrates part of the journey.

  • It is vital that it is a joint programme of care the doctor and the patient. Also the physician is trained to view the patient holistically and that must indicate personalised care which considers the person as a whole including their emotional and social situation. Too much specialisation can lead to omitting important information.

  • Yes but often one is only given a set amount of time eg with a GP ten minutes and that is to discuss one topic only.

  • The article does reflect many of the difficulties faced by the patient and carer in the NHS. This attitude of "doctor knows best" is encouraged by the media stereotyping the professionals and the different members of society in documentaries and dramas. Plus there is a trend towards stereotyping the individual in regard to pathways of care. We are all...

  • But this should be a two way model, healthcare professionals should also connect better and see the patient in an holistic way in regard to them having a voice.

  • The words used are what should happen. It would be truly great.

  • ARC NECN is using Patient and Public Involvement partners in many aspects of their research in regard to the co-production model.

  • The trouble is the economic structure of society often gets in the way, of progress and the person becomes secondary to the economic model. This is the change which seems to have occurred since the 1980's.

  • The funding aspect is very worrying, in that people could be classed more as numbers than individuals. They progress made should not be allowed to regress.

  • Want to continue to learn about the topic.

  • Useful guidance about the course.

  • Very very helpful

  • It proves good communication between services is vital and that everyone understands what others are doing will benefit the patient in the short and long term.

  • I am here because I think the patient and their carer should be equal partners with healthcare professionals and therefore given a voice which is listened to at every stage of care.

  • There is a lot discussion about personalised care but not actually seen much of it in practise therefore would like to know more.

  • I have been on Futurelearn for a long time. Glad this course is being held in this way.

  • I have lived experience via my own health and my family. I also cared for my parents who both had cancer. I have also knowledge of caring for individuals with eye conditions, diabetes, asthma and musculoskeletal problems.

  • Downloaded the booklet. I am very involved in health and healthcare both for myself and family. Communication and information are vital

  • So often care looks to be based on stereotypical algorithms. The patient needs a voice.

  • Having the research and making it clear to others is a worry.

  • I have a great interest in how people adapt in regard to trauma situations particularly health. How do they express this via their creative processes.

  • Violet Rook made a comment

Agree one needs to have a passion and devotion to the subject to keep going.

  • I have enjoyed reading the course so far.

  • I like to study people and their reactions to events and illustrate these via writing and painting. I express my constructs via these methods in a form of psychological profiles.

  • Very concise. Indicates one needs to analyse ones thoughts regarding the precise topic.

  • I intend to do a PhD in concerning writing and painting.

  • Seems a lovely place for an artist.

  • Very useful detail about construction.

  • Well analysed.
