What is more important: content or delivery?
I know the question is, which is more important between content or delivery, but for me both are equally essential to give a successful presentation. Forced to choose 1 only? I'd choose content.

    2. 3 facts, 1 fiction
It is Michelle's birthday today. She wears an excited smile and a gorgeous emerald dress. It was a gift from Gabby. It became her favorite dress instantly so she was very careful not to spoil and soil it. The dress gave her a lot of confidence and added a bounce on her already graceful walk. Memories of old suddenly came afloat....

    1. 1 fact and 3 fiction
"You wouldn't believe what I just saw!", said Derik rushing into the room, gasping for breath as he slammed the door after him. Dustin and Liam were both staring at the door and waiting for their friend Derik in the classroom. Good Ms. Pam, the class adviser wasn't there to hear Derik and see him coming the way he did in this state...

  • What are your beliefs about language learning and teaching?

My take on this is that language learning is easier and fun when you have the genuine interest, passion, need for it and the bonus part is you have fun plus you enjoy using that language. This personal belief makes me a better teacher and helps me to empower myself and my learners.

I would say I am a stickler for details and a perfectionist when it comes to work and people are not perfect so we know what happens when people fall short of our expectations.

S.T.A.R....ok got it! Moving on! Thanks!
'STAR’ (Situation, Task, Action and Result) can help you provide a concise and effective answer to competency based questions.

    1. Situation - provide some brief details about the situation you were in when you used your competencies so that the reader can understand the context of the example.
    2. Task - outline...

  • True! Recruiters will give some trick questions about situations that will test your skills and competencies. Thanks and I will keep this question in mind. This is one among many questions that always pops out in application forms. ;)

  • As an applicant, one must be sincere, honest, pleasant, respectful and use power words but not the too emotional ones when writing applications. Moreover, there must be no mistake in grammar, spelling and that your purpose is clear. Give the necessary and clear information the recruiter needs.

  • Interesting video and good insights! Learned a lot about the many don'ts and the real mistakes some applicants do when they apply. Therefore, all noted with much appreciation!

  • Fully agree!
"Your covering letter may be the organisation’s first impression of you, so make sure you spend some time on it. If possible, ask someone else to look over it to check it for mistakes."

  • Video CV? I like the idea! Its innovative , something new but other companies might not welcome this idea. Its a great suggestion for people who are techie and has a lot of confidence and feels comfortable in front of a camera. to quote the experts, if in doubt, stick with the traditional CV.

  • I already got one I opened years ago and maybe it is time to update? Thanks.

  • Johny be good! Edgar not bad! ;)

  • I googled myself and there are people who has the same name as mine. Surprised hahaha, then I finally found me! It is the profile that I made at LinkedIn and it is a good one. Yay!

  • Zillion thanks for all these CV samples. I want to learn more and improve my writing skills in doing very effective CV if not the perfect one. ;)

  • Its too simple to impress the HR Officer. In the the educational attainment section, I think the name of the school or university must come first and the major field of study then the year graduated then the A,B levels or honors. Second, the applicant must use power words in the work experience, these among many other things. Thanks.

  • All points noted! Thanks. Moving on for more!
