Exactly. Conventional impact assessment are usually driven by the environmental sector as environmental impact assessment has been institutionalised long ago. But for truly preventing incidence of ermeging and re-emerging infectious diseases HIA, OHIA or other forms of intergrated impact assessments are needed.

Indeed, the mining sector -- and many other natural resource extraction activities -- are controversial as they present many risks but also opportunities. This is why prospective impact assessments that are backed by regulatory requirements that embrace the SDG2030 agenda are needed.
