  • Dear FRed, if you google 'personal encounters' and r'aising awareness', you will find several books/artciles. A good one is Interpersonal encounter: theory and practice in sensitivity training
    by Lakin, Martin

  • This is really great, bravo!

  • Yes agree, I like this music also! It is open access music, and I will ask the link for you.

  • Thank you so much for your comment! Now that you have seen all this good will, maybe a (new) call for volunteer could be done in your museum ;)

  • Thank you for your feedback!

  • Thank you for your feedback!

  • Thank you for your feedback!

  • Thank you for your feedback! I agree with you: reading the comments is really food for thought!

  • Thank you for your feedback!

  • Thank you for your feedback! re-your question, I guess this is why UNESCO and DOCOMOMO have been created for instance.

  • Thank you for your feedback!

  • Thank you very much! I am sure heritage project will be benefit from your skills!

  • Thank you for your feedback; we are glad it might have helped you to refine your options!

  • This is a very good point. Furthermore, all experiences are not tangible, some can be virtual.

  • Great! However, just a little thought, maybe new generations might want something a bit more technology oriented?

  • Great! Maybe we code add a QR code to link also to some website?

  • The Sirius Association will be happy for your purchase, thank you for them!

  • I have been a city guide myself and I loved learning from the crowd : there is always one person emotionally attached to the place. You will discover so many blind-the-scene stories. I wish you a great experience!

  • Great! Heritage needs people like you!

  • Thank you! Indeed research has shown that this is through personal encounters that people raise their awareness and develop better behaviours.

  • Great! Good luck on this new path!

  • Great example!

  • Great example, thanks! Also posing the question on creating heritage, well done!

  • Great example, thanks!

  • Well done!. I love your approach through safety. Do you know that actually death toll by selfies is running pretty high and tourism sites need now to address this issue? Food for thought :)

  • This is a very good point! Climate change is definitively one aspect that impacts our heritage, whether it be built or natural. I invite you to search for UNTWO conferences specialising on this aspect, very very interesting.

  • Agree!

  • Well done!

  • TRue, but a bit too short regarding the requested tasks:)

  • Agree! (however you were a bit oof track regarding the taks;))

  • Well done!

  • Well done!

  • Welcome Hechmi!

  • Welcome Daniela!

  • Welcome Sandra!

  • Hope it will help you in your decision! Welcome to the course!

  • Welcome to the course @PasiVirtamo

  • You're welcome!

  • Mass migration, colonial heritage...we are all coming back to the meaning and sense of this type of heritage: do we value the 'winner' ? Can values change overtime? Nothing is simple!

  • No worries!

  • Good point! I agree with you that engagement and empowerment might increase with the length of stay. However, there is still the question of values :)

  • I totally agree! Have a great week-end!

Goat, thanks! A new place I would have to visit one day :)

  • Hi Rhonda, it is not clear which building you are talking about.

  • Very good point Lyndall! Being a traveller myself (born in France, had my kids in Finland, lived in the Caribbean and then back to France before Australia) I think heritage is mostly about values you carry with you and that can find a new home in each country where you live @LyndallLinaker

  • Very good point Crystalyn! Maybe the reason is that the course if focused on cities?

  • I think every community affects heritage, not only a specific one. Don't you think?

  • And what do you think?

  • Mmmh, heritage is not only about preservation or physical spaces. Think about songs being transmitted from generation to another one. More later ;)

  • Exactly! The Nara Document takes its name from the conference that took place there in 1994 and where 28 countries agreed on the definition and assessment of authenticity.

  • Welcome Catherine!

  • Welcome Anna!

  • Welcome Tricia!

  • Waouh, what a chance! Welcome to the course Jessica!

  • Thank you re the accent! I moved to Australia to improve it but I guess it is a lost case...

  • Dear Sue Ageing This is a very interesting topic that might benefit soon from virtual reality to provide tourism experience in a new way. At this stage, the question remains of the sharing.

  • Welcome Marie! Hope this course will be up to your expectations! Cheers

  • Welcome Judi! Interesting issues, that we are tackling...hope it will help you to inform your decisions or opinions. Cheers.

  • Welcome Siobhan! I can't resist asking you whether you have already contacted universities in your neighborhood to know whether you could volunteer on one of their heritage projects? There are always some researchers that would welcome such an opportunity. I hope you will enjoy the course.
