  • @NoahL Our staple food is called 'Enjera', you could relate it to bread but very different. And it is eaten with different kinds of stew.

  • Thank you very much for preparing such a useful, very helpful course. I particularly like the fact that I could come back at any time when I need some guidance from this course.
Generally I feel more prepared to pursue my study in the UK, but the course also reminded me to be a lot more open for unexpected things, and better prepared.
    Finally I want to say...

  • I am grateful that our theatre show today was good.
To add, in my society, especially elderly people are usually grateful for every tiny goodness around them and it is, I feel, very good. Spirituality also help a lot.

  • We can't acquire all the knowledge in the world, and we are students. In fact, we are always students, aren't we?

  • I think it's helpful, the example seems simple but I believe many of us experienced it. But I see that the right way of thinking can help or let us feel alright.

  • ሀሴት/Hasset/ is an Amharic word(one of the languages in Ethiopia) which refers to more than happiness, ironically includes calmness and rest.

  • I admit my boat is slightly slanted in fever of 'required' but I will try to give more time to enjoy.

  • This course is helping me to better imagine and be better realistic about my expectation about life in the UK as a student. I can't express them but I am more aware of things now.

  • Thanks, that is good insight.

  • Hello Esraa, nice to meet you too. Having such a variety is a relief.

  • I believe spirituality could help here. We have limitations and willingness to let things happen is may be what we should learn and benefit from.

  • Yes, I think relationship building is good but if not joining communities could help too. Noted.

  • I have two questions:
    1. Is it rude in the UK to say 'no I don't drink' for an offer of a drink?
    2. May be it's directly for @NaohL but anyone who knows can share thoughts. Is there any health issue related to low or non consumption of alcohol?

I have a sleeping problem which now I am trying to fix it with adapting myself to a suitable routine. Interestingly, the idea first sparked after hearing Erik Ten Hag, the Man Utd manager, stressing about it.

I am from Ethiopia snd I expect a huge difference. But I believe I can cope with the most shared foods.

  • @NoahL that is nice info.

  • I think we, as international students, should expect such excellence in the UK's education system. But this remind me that it still could exceed our expectations. Nice to be remembered.

  • It's amazing to know all these things which might seem small matters but actually could disrupt one's day to day life. Thanks.

  • Hello, my name is Adane and I am from Ethiopia. I am looking forward to study 'Theatre Making' at the University of Kent.
I am eager to really delve into the anticipated problems and solutions regarding wellbeing and educational journey in the UK.
    Thank you.
And also, thanks for creating such a useful course by the way.

  • Thank you all! The course was very helpful! I hope I will utilize what I have learned!

  • I think I am a small detail type of person. Recently I had to direct a play for a stage with eight cast members. I always plan things ahead in detail and even predict some scenarios I believe I may encounter. This resulted in producing a polished play with no surprises.

  • I am in a theatre making industry in Ethiopia and it is always easy to start but difficult to finish a theatrical project as the obstacles are numerous.
Once, my producer left the country and I had to deal with all the costs of a production we started. Fortunately, I managed to minimize costs by convincing co-artists and fetch additional funds from...

  • I believe being authentic all the way is always good.

  • I think it lacks a little bit of modesty overall. And technically, it should include addresses and address the unknown employer as 'Sir/Madam' than just Sir. Using more formal grammar is also beneficial, I believe.

  • The people I checked in LinkedIn put a better information on their profile about themselves than I know them personally. But I don't think they are dishonest. They are showing off their achievements and that definitely attract employers and people who want to work with them.

  • With Johnny, his profile declares that he is going to be a problem than an asset for employers which automatically decreases his employability. This is because he is undermining his bosses publicly and he usually shows up late for work which are great concerns.
Edgar's profile is professional than communal. As you said he may use WhatsApp for interacting with...

  • I think it could have been more precise by omitting some details.

  • It's nice and simple. I always feel anxiety whenever I think of making a CV, especially when I see my friend's complicated and graphics based CVs. I like this and my CV has been more or less like this, so I appreciate that you confirmed such simplicity, at least for now.

  • Hello, I am Adane, from Ethiopia. I am happy to join this course because it seems the right time as I am trying to apply for a scholarship and universities.

  • It is very helpful, especially reminding me that my focus shouldn't be on myself. I treasure that. And it also encouraged to know more about Meisner and his techniques.
I just wish you to improve some dictations which I feel confining in a way. I can't explain it but I felt it. But it is a minor thing.
Thanks and good luck for you too.

  • First thank you for introducing Mr. Meisner to me. And then for making such a precise course. Thanks!

  • I have a challenge of enjoying the moment. It feels more of work than playing. Any thoughts or help?

  • My mentor, the late Mr. Abate Mekuria who was the greatest director in Ethiopia, used to say that we can't repeat a performance. He didn't want to see what we have done the day before. He often demanded new way of the same scene. This is both for rehearsals and showcases. It's fascinating for me as I am still struggling to perform as if its the first time. But...

  • I think this is a very good and helpful way of navigating acting. I really appreciate you and, of course, Mr. Meisner for letting us think outside of ourselves. For me it is a relatively new and exciting way which I would say I am looking for. We found each other at the right time of my career. Thanks!
P.s what is described here aligned with the previous...

  • Very helpful, sir!

  • I want yo try Hamlet's 'to be or not to be'.

  • It is a little bit different, I said playing, you said living.

  • Acting is a way of story telling through portraying and playing characters.

  • I have studied many methods, especially of a whole approach of a play or theatre. I find physical approach of acting interesting for me. Meyerhold ignites such interest of mine

  • Amazingly you are right and the solution you offer is also very helpful! A great way to start learning a course, especially about Acting! Thanks sir!

  • Hello, my name is Adane and I am from Ethiopia. I have studied theatre as a whole at the university level but I always wanted to learn more and more about it and specifically about Acting. This is one of those opportunities and I am embracing it. Thanks.

  • My vision is to have my own theatre house.
My mission is to give the right shows for my society in order to help them to connect themselves to their soul, to let them be in other persons shoe and to entertain them with the right kind of a show.
My values are honesty, empathy and truth.

  • Its all about creative freedom for me. But the problem is I don't have the amount of money needed for example to produce my own theatre show. And whenever someone approaches you to help they came with their own desire which is usually a trap for me.

  • The biggest reason is because it sets me free, especially in my creative choices.

  • I love theatre and I consider myself as a theatre practitioner. I am freelancing in a way but have had only one client so far and feels like I am dependent. I want to move on but there are almost non clients who could appreciate my way of producing shows. I am considering employment as it is hard to survive and be independent in a way for a while or who knows...

  • On the other hand, governments have the responsibility to protect people who can not make their own decisions. It should legislate the legal drinking age and weather pregnant women should allowed.

  • Studies in Australia shows that experienced teachers tend to rely on their experience and belief than new approaches.

  • Nice excercise.

  • Nice lesson and task.

  • I think it is important that I mention my first useful experience of learning English. Me and my friend, who is more familiar with the language, started using only English after school until we got home for some time and it benefited me enormously.

  • I didn't know about PTE tests before joining the course. I joined it just to improve my English language skill and boy how much it helped. It is challenging and this gave me some thought to strengthen my learning even further.
I also understand that you gave a lot of thought to develop the course and I am grateful. Cheers.

  • I accept that response 1 is better but it also incorporates an expression which is not stated in the main passage. It said "in war-torn south coast", which has got nothing to do with the passage. I am just saying.

  • I just want to appreciate you for giving us such a punching knowledge and a breakthrough for understanding English and the test too.
"Presumption" is a challenging word for me. I think I know it but not.
