I really love prof. Rosling's work - the data often contradicts popular beliefs and stereotypes. As for Gapminder tools, there is also a very interesting project called Dollar Street https://www.gapminder.org/dollar-street, where you can observe and compare houses and lifestyles from all over the world depending on household income.
