  • My name is Monsicha. I live in Bangkok, Thailand. I am Buddhist by birth because my parents are Buddhist. I was raised and educated as a strict Buddhist, both in family, school and university. . I was educated very little about other religions while the Buddhist lessons appeared on my school books since I was 6 years until I graduated high school. We prayed...

  • Some Supermarkets in Thailand has this kind of service. Some provides free of charge service if the customer spending reaches the certain amount. The goods will be delivered 1-2 days after the order. We can pay either cash or credit card via website or to delivery man. We can order anything such as fresh food, daily household. I always use this service because...

  • 1. We are told to behave as 'satisfaction is happiness' too. I don't know whether it's something to do with Asian culture. People who behave differently will be considered greedy and ambitious. We have the mind set that good people must be always humble.

    2. Problem made me feel uncomfortable at first, but it also challenged myself whether I could get over...

  • If 'satisfaction is happiness' is Chinese culture, why Chinese still had innovation in the ancient time?

  • I didn't like the blank wall in front of my shop. Its color was pale and lifeless. I thought I would it painted, but I changed mind because I didn't want to trouble my parents. Instead of painting, I hanged colorful bags for sales to cover the ugly wall. The bags look vividly with the background of lifeless wall.

  • Reading is the way to get closed to the soul of people involving about the book. No matter they are writers, translators, publishers, all characters displaying in the book. I generally read the same book twice times or more. At the first time, I want to know the content. For the second time, I will spend much more longer time than the first time because I want...

  • If they think they do the right thing for their country, why did they have to deny it?

  • I read from some books but I can't remember the name of book. It said Jewish people had the price of heads. If non Jewish people report nazi where their Jewish acquaintances were in hiding, non Jewish would be paid.

  • Why did nazi use different method to control eastern and western Jewish? Legal segregation wouldn't be effective in eastern and ghetto wouldn't be effective in western?

  • During the time of WWII, the concept of Human right was emerged in the world yet?

  • Thank you very much Colin for your clear summary. :-)

  • If only Hitler didn't include the annihilation of Jewish as their super goal, WWII would go this far? If Jewish was treated equal to all citizen, would the result of war be different?

  • Monsicha Ountrongjit made a comment

I still couldn't understand the reason of different pattern of occupation between east and west Europe. It seemed that people in eastern was treated poorer than people in western, but why?

  • Thank you David for the information. Previously I know only Nazi chose musicians among their prisoners to play in music band in the camp. It was to entertain SS and also propaganda. Those prisoners had a bit better quality of life. You are right, that writers and artist use their skills to express the feeling and harsh life condition...

  • I think women tends to avoid conflict, but young men are not afraid of conflict and tends to face the risk intentionally?

  • I can understand them very well. It must be the same as when I open the mail box sent from Amazon. I carefully opened, dragged the books from the package, and removed the books from bubble bumper. Every books of mine are wrapped by plastic sheet. It is to protect the cover of the books. Books are my precious things.

  • When I was a child, I didn't like this story because its ending is sad.
When I become adult, I think differently. I learn that as a woman, not to fall in love with a man first, otherwise our life and soul must be sacrificed to him like little mermaid.

  • Dear Sarah, I am glad that your aunt was one of survival. Thank you for sharing your story. I don't know Sir Nicholas Winton before so I will study about his work & life in the future.

  • Yes, Clare, I like this book very much. I read it in both translated version in my own language and English version.

  • Thanks Peter, I found his mountain home Berghof and his activities in Google. I agree now it's quite lavish...

  • Yes, John, it is that book. I read the book more than 10 times. I really appreciate her for being sincere, honest and diligent woman. Most of the time, she made her right decision when her life was in crisis. She was honest to share her stories during good and bad time. She was respectable woman who always lifted her chin high to face any obstacles. At first,...

  • I see... They controlled and made people to fear of them... then they could do anything they wanted...

  • I think during that period all countries were exhausted of WWI, bad world economics, and social media was not widespread as same as today. Therefore they focused more about their own business and did the best they can.

  • The SS or camp commanders allowed their prisoner to do the arts work in the camp? As their arts work showed how much miserable life they were, they weren't punished because of speaking the truth?

  • Thank you very much, Ann. I was stunned by this painting. http://fcit.usf.edu/Holocaust/gallery2/D86.htm

  • In the book 'into that darkness', the interviewer asked Franz Stangl why nazi had to destroy Jewish people, he said because nazi needed their money.

The interviewee was surprised by this answer so she asked why nazi still destroyed poor Jewish people. His reply was 'nobody has nothing. Everybody must have something.'

  • Thank you very much Elizabeth. I thought Jewish discrimation had already abolished since the end of WWII and the destruction of nazi. I don't know them personally, but I feel sorry for them that they feel isolated at their hometown just because they are Jewish.

  • Those countries were annexed by force because they had defenseless army?

  • The reducing of immigration quota in United state, Israel and Palenstine by British didn't happen, more Jewish would be survived. Why did they limit the quota of immigration?

  • I think they were too afraid to oppose the government. They didn't want to be the next target of SS. The quality of life was improved a bit better.

I read a memoir of Jewish woman who got married with a SS officer. (He didn't know she was Jewish and all her documents were faked). Before marriage she had to work in the camp, missed the opportunity to finish...

  • The policy of welfare state initiated by the nazi government is still effective until now or it was abolished after the failed of nazi?

  • I think people trusted no one, and turned blind when their friends were caught because of political movement.

  • What kind of policy they promised to accomplish so that they won the election?

  • As I read 'Into that darkness', the writers interviewed Franz Stangl (the commander of treblinka camp), his wife, his colleagues and his survived prisoners. His wife wasn't sure what kind of the job her husband was responsible for. He only told her that it was security job.

I don't know whether German people knew exactly what really happened in the camp....

  • It was also said it was the wrist, not the nail.

  • Dear Peter, it is nice to receive your reply again in this course. :-)
Hitler was moderately rich? As I read from somewhere but I couldn't recognize the source, his living condition is quite humble,no extravagance?

  • Dear Anne, my conclusion is from the video. It is not my personal opinion. The video showed few examples that Jews had the capacity of handling money, economics and young Jewish children can read and write. This is why some Christian 'think' that Jews are better than them? If not, what were their opinion towards Jews? Positive, negative, neutral?

  • What if German people protested the establishment of Dachau? Nobody had opinion about it?

  • I read the book 'The nazi officer's wife', memoir of a Jewish woman who got married with a nazi officer. It said 'Mein Kampf' was the wedding gift of every new married couple.

  • As I watched the movie 'Benhur', Jesus Christ was crucified by the order of Rome, not Judea's people? (I understand that Judea's people are Jews?)

  • Can I conclude that the main reason Christian doesn't like Jews because Jews are better than them?

  • I haven't read fairy tales in such point of view before. Thank you very much. Your analyze reminded me of the movie 'animal farm'. At first I thought it was children movie, and I always liked to watch any movie about animal because of their cuteness. After I came out of the cinema, I was not disappointed but felt very stressed and headache.

  • Thank you Very much for your answers, Summer Bird and Malcolm. :-)

  • I can't be sure what the role of the dogs are. At first I thought they are under controlled by the witch because the witch knows how to manage them. But at the end of story, the dogs becomes the soldier's helpers.

  • This story reflect the nature of man. He thinks about himself first. He must get what he wants otherwise he will get it by force.

  • Without the witch's help, the soldier can't become rich. Why is she an antagonist?

  • I haven't heard thus story before but I can remember it's similar to many of Thai folktales.

    - the poor man become better man by someone who support him but he betray that one at last.

  • I can notice that his paper cuts always consists of these elements : swan, tree, leaves, ballerinas, man with thick shoulder, woman with small waist, and heart. Did these elements reflect something in his life, his mind?

  • I haven't read about his biography before. I guess he didn't think himself as 'artist' but it's readers who identify him as 'artist'. My aunt is a novelist. I call her a novelist because her stories were published and shown on TV. She didn't intend to be a novelist. But it was because her parents were very poor and she had many siblings to feed. She knew that...

  • Monsicha Ountrongjit made a comment

Without his connection with publisher and aristocratic patronages, his works might not be popular and successful?

  • If teacher can provide such interesting material like this, history class will not be boring anymore, thank you so much! :-)

  • The supermarket has special promotion to their customer. Every 2.5$ purchased they will give 1.5 liter drinking water for free of charge. It seems to be good deal but I can't join this campaign. 1.5 kg per bottle is too heavy for me to carry. *_*

  • The unit of measurement were also reformed and standardized by Qin Shi Huangdi during 210 BC. Did this knowledge have any influence upon SI units?

  • Thank you so much! It is very clear explanation. If the sentence cut short only 'dilutes 200 times' and no further explanation by number, I might think that this treatment was effective.

  • I can't think of any example of scientific hypothesis. I am interested in history. Numbers are also important when I read the article about history. For example, the number of population, the number of distance between cities, the size of area, the number of weapons and facilities...etc. Those numbers could give me the clearer picture of how's going on in the...

  • My parents owned grocery shop. Since I was a child, I helped them to do easy job such as counting products, writing the product price on each item. Therefore when I was in primary school, I didn't struggle with maths like other students. I felt maths was the part of my daily life. I got used to with calculating numbers.

  • Yes, Museum should be active and serve the society. If it's just 'permanent', it is like a dead 'object'. Museum should always react towards changed society.

  • Dear Ana, thank you for your idea. But what makes our museum become boring place is not about the management, it's about our limit culture.

Individuality is not high valued as Monarch and buddhist. Therefore Monarch and Buddhist are the most important section in the museum. However, as they are sacred objects, they can't be interpreted differently.

    In...

  • This video gave me new knowledge about museum. As I visit museums in my country, they look similar to antique shop. Old things are placed in show case with short description about how old are they, who are their previous owners (if any)...

  • I want to add being activist and treason is the question of perspective too. When a person who is trying to speak about injustice in his society, he also has to seek asylum otherwise he will be reported to the governor. His life and family will be in trouble, without trial.

Liberty and freedom are about the judgement of governor. If we think or behave...

  • I think computer and technology has different kind of mind, if they have any. They have to have former input data before they can generate new data. But human can be imaginative or generate new idea and behaviour without former input data.

  • Mind cannot be seen, but it works and corporates with my other organs. When I am sad, I am tearful because my mind tells me so. When my mind is absent, I probably bite my own tongue forget where I place my things.
