Thanks for so many thoughtful comments. There were two main strands. Some of you argued that the public should be more aware of how much NHS services cost and that this might reduce waste. Others argued that raising awareness of cost could mean that people don't seek help when they need it, for fear of being a burden. Plenty of food for thought!

Interestingly, you've all picked up on what we're about to discuss in the rest of this week and there seems to be frequent mentions of the same challenges: an ageing population, staffing and Brexit. Well done everyone, you've completed Week 3! This week we looked at the many ways in which NHS performance is measured. A key theme through all your comments was the importance of prioritising patient outcomes and experience over the system or financial pressures.

Thanks for all of your comments. A lot of you have recognised the importance of shared responsibility between patients/the public and doctors/NHS. Making sure the standard of care for patients is the first priority was something shared by many of you.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on what are the most significant changes to the NHS since 1948. You shared a range of key moments from economic, social and political factors. Another interesting theme was the change in the public expectations of the NHS, which we look at more in Week 3.
