Welcome to the program
In this unit students learn to construct computer programs using iterative development processes and object oriented analysis, design, and programming techniques. The unit assumes no prior knowledge and introduces students to fundamental programming principles, programming abstractions, control mechanisms, and how these operate within the computer.
Students learn to build programs that use objects and classes, variables, methods, parameters, types, libraries, control flow, and associated statements. In addition to these fundamentals, students also learn to apply the object-oriented principles of abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance and polymorphism to analyse, design, and implement object oriented programs. This includes use of programming language libraries and features that support these principles.
