Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion, you should be able to:

  • Develop a project plan that translates the project scope into specific objectives and articulates the project process for a typical construction-related project. This should include a critical appraisal of construction procurement strategies

  • Apply time and budgetary analysis techniques to a project to provide an activity-based breakdown of the work using planning software. This includes a critical assessment of the human and physical resource needs

  • Develop and critically evaluate a quality management procedure that includes QA/QC requirements for monitoring conformance

  • Propose and perform a risk assessment of a construction-related project

  • Demonstrate alternative views of managing projects based on alternative project management methodologies

  • Critically evaluate environmental sustainability issues relating to the management of construction projects
