Skip to 0 minutes and 5 seconds THANH NGUYEN: What makes computers intelligent? What enables them to solve complex business problems? The answer is software. Without it, your computer would be a piece of garbage. Hi. I’m Dr. Thanh Nguyen from Deakin University. In this free two-week course, we will look at how software is designed. Software is found in every aspect of our daily life, entertainment, education, health care, even social media. Did you know that most of these are highly complex pieces of software? It’s definitely not your simple Hello World programme. One of the most difficult parts of building software is understanding the software requirements correctly.

Skip to 0 minutes and 58 seconds If you want to learn the first steps of how to tackle real-world business problems using software, you have come to the right place. In this course, you will learn how to analyse the requirements of software and how to model our software to meet with these requirements. Join me exploring the fascinating world of software, and we look forward to working with you.

In this unit, students will see the impact that software systems have on our economy and society. We will look at modern software engineering concepts, practices, and principles - with content written by a unique team of industry professionals and academics. The unit will focus on the analysis stage of software project life-cycles, and will apply real-world requirements analysis and modeling activities to assist students in becoming effective system analysts.
