Adapting a learning design

Adapt a learning design.
In this exercise, you can work with the following guide to enhance an existing design in a way that makes use of a digital tool.

Exercise

We start with a learning design based on the Lesson Plan you saw in Week 2.

  • Read through the learning design from Step 2.7 for How do young people see education in their lives and futures?. This is available in the Download below.
  • Read through, thinking about how you would add in a digital tool to make it more motivating for learners – you can edit existing activities, or add new ones.
  • Look back at the Padlet we created in Step 4.5 – are there any ideas of digital tools there you can bring in here, to link to the appropriate learning type?
  • Edit the guideline for the activity, change the learning type, if appropriate, and the duration in minutes, the number of students, whether it is online or not, and whether the teacher is present or not.
  • Click on Save As to make sure you keep the new design.

Over to you

Post your comment on how you changed the learning design, and why you made that change.

If the exercise posed any problems or questions please post those as well, and ‘Like’ any other questions you would like answered. The Educators will join the discussion to address your questions and comments.
