About

Established in 1954, UCR University Extension is the continuing and professional development division of the University of California, Riverside (UCR), and is an internationally-recognized leader in education for individuals, organizations, and communities–regionally, nationally, and internationally. We deliver UC-quality certificate programs across several areas of study for students of all ages. All of our academic programs are developed in conjunction with, and taught by, UCR faculty and real-world professionals.

UCR is ranked No. 12 among all U.S. universities, according to Money Magazine’s 2019 rankings, and among the top 1 percent of universities worldwide, according to the Center for World University rankings. Each of the last three years, U.S. News & World Report named UCR the top university in the United States for social mobility. As a member of the University Innovation Alliance, UCR is committed to improving the success of low-income, first-generation students, as well as students of color. In fact, of UCR’s more than 26,000 students, more than half are first generation. UCR is also a powerful engine of economic growth for Inland Southern California and beyond, having contributed more than $2.7 billion to the U.S. economy during the fiscal year 2015-16 alone. UCR is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
