I had gone to purchase something and i accidentally paid more than was asked but they agreed to refund me the extra on cash. that was an exception. and I loved their clientele.

  • team work makes work easier, faster and most importantly productive as long as there is cooperation.

  • Feedback provides useful insights on a business whether its a criticism or a positive feedback. because from a critic, you either improve or upgrade, and if its a positive feedback, it boosts your self esteem to want to do or give your the best always.

for a business to succeed, it needs to have a good manager and a good leader. so id prefer being both. a good leader and a manager.

  • I think self discovery isimportant as a manager because it guides you to knowing your strengths and weaknesses and only by knowing yourself do you have room to know others and respect them and also you will know how to manage your business

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

Both management styles are important because for a positive outcome in a business

  • As a manager both were applicable, because for the task to be completed successfully, me and my colleagues also we had to be on the same page

  • My experience is via employment. Where we had to liaise different services for our clients.

  • Great looking forward

It's quiet outside. A drop from the sky, and another, and yet another, falls to the ground.
The sweet smell, the earthy smell, the smooth breeze, the beautiful rainbow, all feelings, all emotions it beings.

  • I think the most challenging capabilities to manage for an MNE in an international setting as listed above, are
HRM, Research and development and sales & marketing and branding, because of different cultures, language and regulations in different countries.

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

Thanks for the opportunity, ready to continue

  • If I were a HR practitioner
    in TADA international, I would improve TADA international, HR practices and policies, by introducing;

    1. Human resource planning: To accomplish its mission, goals and strategic plan, I will first analyze the current workforce, determine the future workforce needs, and identify the gap between the present and the future, and...

  • TADA international, is governed under poor HR practices and policies, like,
Poor talent management, it's discriminating to it's employees when it top ranks employees based on social connection, and not qualifications, and lacks diversity, and this affect the moral of it's employees and destroys TADAs brand image both locally and internationally.

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

I have experienced the talent management issue, where most employed people go somewhere else where the pay is better.

  • Telecommunications services

  • This is a bit confusing to me because of the global recession issue.. Anyways, I feel like, the matching model (Hard HRM) is more appropriate when managing the issues of the global recession, in terms of results orientation and since it's cost effective. Although the influential model is more considerate to employees, in regards to their welfare, which...

  • I would comfortably work there the whole day. I might add a note book and headphones, and will place it next to the window facing the backyard, not the streets and ofcourse make it a private space for work.

  • Thanks for the tips

    Soft HRM is better

Most of my queries have already been asked or answered from my fellow learner's, otherwise the rest is clearly explained

  • In my country, mostly, you send your resume, if you reach their qualifications, your appointed for an interview, and if your chosen your given a three months contract, so they can survey your work, after that if they are happy with your competence, your given a full term contact, that includes your benefits packages and wages.

  • I think HRM and IHRM have similar tasks, only that one is international (IHRM) and the other one domestic (HRM), making the international one more broader and a bit complex in task as compared to the domestic one.

  • I think language and culture is the main Challenge found in businesses when expanded internationally.

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

HRM is managing people at work through the process of employing people, training them, compensating them, developing policies relating to them, and developing strategies to retain them.

  • Hi,
I am Ann. Looking foward to learn about HRM.

  • To keep an even balance between work and home life, she needs to get assistance withith chores and some child duties, it would also be helpful to keep specific days aside only for the extra curriculum affairs like hobby and friends, and specific hours strictly for work and also remember time for herself, otherwise I find overworking leads to unproductivity at...

  • Mine is just distractions

  • I think remote working is really reliable and flexible, plus the job offers are quite great

  • I think remote working is a good idea for Lillian, because she is flexible to juggle between work and her parenting roles.

  • I am interested in remote working because I am a freelancer, it's flexible and it allows me to spend time with my family and be productive life wise.
The challenges I get is sometimes it's a bit lonely, and it needs alot of discipline in deadlines or it can be messy in terms of noice or concentration.

  • I submitted a lot more because it has proven to be flexible on my side

There was a time a got I approached a situation in a very un professional way.
Now I have this useful tips and if I had them before I would have implemented them and in a professional yet effective way.

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

Well explained and noted. Thank you very much.
I will definitely use this useful tips.

  • I think Ali should follow the advice of her manager, and work on her communication skills. First she should write down her points, practice her speech, and in the meeting be confident and if incase she gets interrupted, at the end of the meeting she should air her points out.

  • And if she gets the same problem in the other job?

  • Thanks!!
    Well noted

  • I used to validate someone by repeating what I heard them say...but I believe from today I will do that and use this other powerful argument tool... “Thanks for raising this issue. I’m uncomfortable with where we’re heading and would feel better if we could talk it through as a team.”
    Interesting!

  • I agree with Jennifer's feedback, and when I'm in such a situation I would implement her suggestions.
    Regards.

  • Last two questions I didn't know what to answer, so I'm happy on the lessons. Great experience

  • Hierarchy isn't really that important in that people are people. Hmmm.. great lesson. When I'm speaking to the CEO I speak to ceo not a person, so I'm often tensed and sometimes Don't end up even finishing my discussion...or point. Great lesson there. And also listening first.
    Thanks!!

  • My typical week, consists of all communication platforms, from emails, social media platforms and walk in clients so I guess that means ,face to face. The part which I need to improve is the social media platforms, because unlike other people who think it's the easiest, I feel like it's the most difficult part.

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

    Thanks

  • Happy...Looking forward to week 2. Thanks.

  • I have learnt a lot and seen where I need to change in my communication process, my presentation as well, thanks to this tutorial.

  • Presentation 1 ( before the actual presentation I would ask my colleagues to assist me.)
Video chat, Email, face to face and social media 5 ( confident because i do it all the time)
    Slack 3

  • For Ali, I suggest first putting her thoughts on pen and paper as she is used to, and then practice her pen and paper with a colleague or friend before doing a face to face with a client. On the actual meeting, she should check her breaths, be comfortable, do eye contact and be confident.

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

I would have handled them in the same way.

  • Great experience on the interactive process. Learnt something new.

  • For the tutors I will do a formal presentation of the app, but for the clients/students I will use a more personable approach, since the whole idea is to get them excited about the app and to use it.

  • I like all the three techniques, I have been using them but I always find it hard to do the eye contact technique for long, but as taught I will continue practicing it till I perfection it.

  • With my job post, I have used all.

  • Although I do both written and oral communication I prefer one on one communication. I have realised that for a Positive and effective communication, it's important to give a response rather than a reaction which I have done often especially when confronted, I tend to defend myself and I have discovered that I am an INFP...(Idealistic, loyal to their values...

  • In my experience, I believe it's important to be yourself and professional, otherwise the not so real side of you feels like your living a lie, and yet if your not professional at work, your work relationships tend to stray, which it's not a good thing. For a new job, I start by observing and learning the way around and people before diving in to the I know...

  • From this exercise I have discovered alot about myself that I didn't know. Great experience

  • Ann Mukima made a comment

    Who am I?
Hmm, this exercise was interesting. The who are you question is still in my head. In so many ways, I one gets a perfect understanding of who they are and a deeper meaning of yourself. On asking the other person who they are, it felt as though I was probing, but the results brought a positive communication outcome.

  • Honestly even though sometimes I can be results oriented, I prefer a one on one communication style, because it feels as though I'm understanding the other person better, and vise versa. Although some questions on how I'd like to communicate exercise, I would also say it depends on the situation at hand.

  • I believe communicating well is very important in any situation, especially if the expected results should be positive. Quite often when a negative subject is addressed to us, our first reaction is to protect ourselves, so we end up reacting to the subject in defense, which leads to a negative outcome, instead of listening, then analyzing the situation and...
