    Hi Dina, I know I have replied to this via email, but thought it was worth repeating for the benefit of others. “ Not sure if in dentistry you would ever use x2 magnification and the lens looks a bit bulkier than the Canon 100mm, it also will only go to f22 whereas Canon will go to f32, which you may need at x2 magnification.     Models change regularly, as long as it is a Nikon compatible flash, it will always state Nikon or Canon fit.

    Hi Phoebe, unfortunately 4000D is not recommended for dental,photography as it is lacking any dioptre adjustment on the eyepiece which you need to be able to adjust to your eyes for accurate focussing, unless it happens to be correct for your eyes.     Hi, difficult as Canon entry level cameras reportedly only work with expensive Canon ringflash >£700. So though I prefer Canon perhaps look at a set up using Nikon D5600 set up.     Hi, no problem, the whole idea of this course is to simplify as much as possible, flash synch is dealt with by choosing 1/200 so not really worth mentioning, for this course only thing students will need to understand is that if the power of the flash or size of aperture is increased or decreased exposure will get lighter or darker.     You can change either, with any flash set power to give you exposure you want at 1:3 magnification and f22. Mike

    Hi Lena, Yongnuo is good but battery compartment lid is weak, better option would be the Meike ringflash, make sure you get the right one as they do a led light too. Meike should be about £80. If you are not sure then send me the link to mike@mikesharland.com. 90mm macro should be fine. Mike

    Presumably you have the Sigma macro lens, the canon 100mmm macro goes to f32, not a great problem, just adjust flash power for closer shots. Mike
