  • Really great persona examples. Nice to see such a variety! Also good to see that some new tools are being used here. Very creative. Great work everyone!

  • @MarianG Hi Marian. VLE stands for Virtual Learning Environment.

  • Hi Prema, engaging your audience in an online environment is challenging, however there are various techniques that you can use to help with this such as creating bitesize or 'chunking' of your content. Also making the materials accessible, clear to understand and creating a variety of content types on your courses to encourage engagement. We will cover all...

  • @OlaHassan Hi Ola, welcome to the course! No you don't need any additional software to participate on the course.

  • Thanks Julie, this is a great example. This is usually challenging for academics when trying to become familiar with a new VLE and navigating a new system. Time is often one the biggest issues as there is so much to learn here and with a variety of digital skills sets, this adds a layer of complexity. Great start!

  • Hi everyone, thank you so much for your introductions so far. Really great to see such a wide range of skills and expertise joining us on the course. We hope that you find the resources on the course helpful and maybe apply these to your own courses.

  • Hi everyone and welcome! We hope that you find this course and the resources helpful and I look forward to seeing your journey throughout the course!

There are many ways to do this and I like how we are talking about 'chunking' of materials (which we will cover later in the course), using quizzes, short videos etc.

    These are all...

  • Really fantastic work! Great to see such a wide range of personas being created here. What is interesting about personas is that it gets us thinking a bit more about potential audiences that will be undertaking your course(s). It may be that as you create your content, your audience may even differ from what you thought that typical learner might be. But thats...

  • Some really great conversations around identifying your target audience. It is something that can be quite difficult to do especially if designing a new course. Some really interesting perspectives in here around catering for a diverse cohort, motivations and experiences.

Sometimes we can have a clear idea of who that audience will be, but when facing the...

  • Hello Emma! Welcome to the course! Glad you could join us. Hope you find the course interesting and useful!

  • Thanks for your question Uma. When considering your persona, think about the characteristics of what your typical learner may look like. You can draw on some of your experiences with previous students in order to create a persona. Hope that helps.

  • Hi Duo, think about the type of student you feel would participate in your course. Who would a 'typical' learner be on your course. What are their motivations, background etc.

  • Hi Joesph, for this consider a target student you think would be a typical student for your course. It is someone who you think your course would be aimed at.

  • Hi everyone, thanks so much for all your comments so far! Great to see so many different backgrounds and experiences joining us for the course. We hope that you will find the expertise and resources throughout the course valuable. It will also be a great space for you to learn from each other and share your experiences throughout and we look forward to seeing...
