Good deck - he could have made an introduction of himself to the audience to better connect with them.

For me, the two most important things from Jennifer's feedback to Ross are to breathe and to ensure that the deck does supports your content not taking away the attention of the audience from your presentation but supporting your presentation.

The advice not to stand behind the podium but in front of the deck is a real good one for me.

I have experienced aggravated conflict in projects - mapping below:
Parties: Team Leader, Project Manager, Project Staff
Goals: Schedules, priorities, Knowledgebase
Authority: Technical and administrative
Interpersonal: PersonalityIt can be soul-draining to walk around eggshells when in such a team and causes staff flight.

I do not work in multiple projects though I have concurrently worked on multiple activities while on a project - I prefer keeping it to no more than 3 to avoid fragmentation. The advantage of this is that I am not easily bored as I work on each task which lessens boredom.

One thing in projects is learning never to compromise on quality due to time constraint or budget.
-

Quality should be considered from the beginning of the project.

Tasks assigned to less experienced team members in my experience turns out as a learning moment for the less experienced team member when he/she is paired with a team member more experienced and they work as a team to deliver on the task.

Having just learnt about VUCA, I find it very interesting. In the organization I work, we use a risk analysis template. Having learnt about the VUCA framework is an added asset to me in my Project Management work.

The key factor affecting the difference between these countries is governance. With bad/poor governance in a majority of the African countries comes corruption, and bad policies made to favour only the political elite.

Yes, I believe there is a right to development. In every region (even in Sub-Saharan Africa), citizens pay tax and these monies should be used to develop the respective countries while new governments when elected in office should build upon the work of the previous government.

Currently trending over the media in Nigeria (radio and TV) is the spread of Lassa fever, and much talk about zika virus with advise on how to stay safe from both diseases. Also trending is the news about African Union (AU) wanting to leave the ICC (on TV) and researching further on this, I found some news item about it online...

Writing in your mother tongue is a thing of pride and so is speaking in your mother tongue. You know you have a root somewhere. The global language has no depth...my mother tongue has a depth that cannot be explained in the global language as it literally loses its meaning if translated to the global language.
