To join this MSc degree, learners will need one of the following:

• A degree at 2:1 level or above in a relevant biological science (e.g. microbiology or another biomedical science course), or
• A medical or dental degree with a minimum of 12 months postgraduate clinical experience (completion of UK Medical or Dental Foundation Year 1 competencies)
• A PG Cert in Medical Mycology from the University of Exeter Learners will need to be working in a suitable professional setting to complete the project-based elements of the MSc.

English language requirements

International students will need to provide evidence of one of the following English language proficiency scores:

• IELTS: 6.5 overall and no less than 6 in any section
• TOEFL: 90 with minimum scores of 21 for writing,listening, reading and speaking. MyBest scores are not accepted
• PTE: 67 with no less than 64 in all communicative skills
• LanguageCert International ESOL SELT: B2 Communicator with minimum 39 in speaking, writing, listening, reading.
• INTO Pre-sessional English: 65 and no less than 60 in any sub-section

• The epidemiology and changing spectrum of fungal disease
• Antifungal therapy, antifungal resistance and antifungal stewardship
• Immunology of fungal diseases (clinical pathway only)

With this wide-ranging expertise, you’ll be equipped for careers in clinical services in the NHS and other healthcare providers around the world, as well as commercial enterprise in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries.

You’ll also develop your research skills and build a network of colleagues in mycology all around the world, which you can draw on in your practice or profession.
