Gain a practical understanding of emerging and disruptive technologies

Disruptive technologies are revolutionising organisations, through their ability to enhance current practices or create new practices entirely.

On this ten-week microcredential from The Mind Lab, you’ll be introduced to emerging technologies that are disrupting processes and changing operational landscapes across sectors. As you deepen your understanding, you’ll demystify these technologies and highlight their interrelations in various contexts.

During this microcredential, you’ll discover how emerging technologies can be used in a variety of business settings and understand how to embed them within your own sector’s current or planned infrastructure. You’ll gain the evaluative skills to assess the impact of different technologies and develop strategies to use these technologies to your advantage. With this knowledge, you’ll be able to offer practical insights and advice to improve business processes and lead the way in creating desirable change in your digital structures.

Explore current and emerging types of futuristic technology with experts from The Mind Lab

Endorsed by New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), the regulators of microcredentials in New Zealand, you’ll receive expert guidance from educators specialising in future-proofing both businesses and people.

You’ll explore a range of disruptive technologies within the areas of big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and cybernetics including cyber security. With an appreciation of the scope of disruptive technologies, you’ll develop insights into enhancing your current processes, or completely revolutionising your infrastructure by embedding disruptive technology into your existing frameworks.

Contextualise your understanding of future tech within your industry sector

Whilst the scope of disruptive technologies is extremely large, not all iterations will be relevant or have the same level of impact across the sectors.

On this microcredential, you’ll discover which industries are experiencing the most rapid levels of change. With case studies chosen by specialist instructors, you’ll evaluate which technologies should be applied in different contexts and begin to identify relevant technologies to explore in your own sector.

Discover how emerging technologies affect industries, business, and people

Disruptive technologies can impact not only infrastructure but the way in which people engage with these processes on a professional and personal level. You’ll explore advances in money, mobility, and communication and how disruptive technologies are being used to completely alter both business and consumer experiences through developments including extended reality (XR), autonomous vehicles, and smart devices.

With this understanding, you’ll be able to holistically assess your business and pinpoint what technologies should be developed within your sector to optimise process efficiency.

Learn how organisations can leverage disruptive technologies for positive change in the workplace

With emerging and disruptive technologies, there is a great opportunity to effect lasting, ethical changes to business processes and strategies.

On this microcredential, you’ll explore how to effectively plan these changes, as well as learn practical skills for discussing the implementation of disruptive technologies across infrastructure to ensure a successful buy-in once introduced.

By the end of this microcredential, you will have gained an understanding of the broad range of emerging disruptive technologies that are revolutionising industry sectors. With this knowledge, you’ll be able to showcase a sound understanding of the different types of technology emerging, as well as plan strategies to embed new technologies into your business processes that are impactful, optimal, and provide meaningful change.
