About

Languages International provides world-class English language courses and language teacher education in Auckland, New Zealand. Established in 1978, Languages International was the first private English language school registered in New Zealand, and every year they typically welcome students from over 40 countries to the school for General, Business and Academic English (English for University) programs. The English for University course is approved under the English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment (APA) scheme, meaning successful graduates meet the English language requirements for entry to all 8 New Zealand universities.

In 1988, Languages International introduced the Cambridge CELTA teacher training scheme to New Zealand, and in 1993 also became the first to offer the Cambridge DELTA. They have subsequently trained thousands of English language teachers for work in New Zealand and worldwide. They now also offer the CELTA as an online programme.

The school is known particularly for its beautiful location in heritage buildings in Albert Park in the centre of Auckland, but also for the quality of its teaching and training staff, reflected in a strong publication record: current staff have written classroom textbooks, academic handbooks, and teacher training materials for a range of international publishers including Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, and Macmillan Palgrave.
