About

Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust

Feel, connect and learn

For 100 years, the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust has been at the forefront of bringing new approaches to treating those who are in mental distress. Parallel to this, the Trust also delivers Higher Education, regulated by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and supported by Health Education England (HEE). Our students are based in London at the Tavistock Centre and in alternative centres across the UK and Europe. The clinicians that teach our students also treat our patients, so the training they provide is based on real-time and relevant case studies that are reflective of what society needs from mental health professionals in both clinical and non-clinical roles such as social work and management and leadership.

We are internationally recognised as an expert in the health, charity, voluntary and private sectors and are proud to have developed and delivered ground breaking mental health services and courses that make a real difference to communities.

Flexible Learning

We are able to offer accessible, flexible and personalised Postgraduate Higher Education to those of varying levels of expertise – some of our students are returning to study and wish to develop knowledge, skills and experience in their current work environment; others are wanting to pursue a new career in mental health.

From September 2020, we will be teaching students all over the world via our brand new Digital Academy which will allow you to access our world-class educational content wherever you are, at a time and pace that suits you.
