Identify strategic spatial interventions in the real world with TU Delft

On this two-week course from TU Delft, you’ll learn how to plan appropriately sized spatial interventions that drive the circular economy in your own region.

Using real-life case studies, you’ll develop your knowledge of the processes for implementing circular strategies within spatial developments.

Explore strategic interventions at all levels

Successful spatial strategies are composed of a functional and spatially integrated network of interventions in order to deliver a comprehensive regional circularity vision.

You’ll delve into suitable strategic interventions at regional, district, and project levels, allowing you to identify how the circular economy can be furthered in various contexts.

Examine how environmental planning instruments can affect market actors

Planning instruments can be used in various ways to support spatial interventions and activate development actors.

You’ll take an in-depth look at the four main planning instruments, from market shaping to market stimulation, learning how each can lead to actions that have spatial implications.

Using this knowledge, you’ll be able to fully realise your spatial vision, by maximising the tools at your disposal.

Learn how to implement strategic interventions from a management perspective

Using examples of rural and urban interventions, you’ll explore approaches to circular area development before moving on to looking at circular area development management in more detail.

You’ll investigate the types of support needed to successfully implement a circular area development plan, always keeping in mind a focus of circularity.

You’ll finish this course able to develop strategic spatial interventions relevant to your own context, informed by your knowledge of the processes needed to ensure its success.
