Discover the importance of collaborative (communicative) planning

Urban planning includes a complex stakeholder network, presenting many difficulties for urban mobility and transportation professionals.

This four-week course will help you explore different approaches, cases, and applications of collaborative planning as a solution to solve challenges.

What’s more, you’ll learn how to answer the many questions raised when trying to implement this strategy.

By the end of this engaging online course, you’ll understand how successful and sustainable urban mobility planning depends on the collaboration between citizens and communities, city officials, private businesses, and other stakeholders.

Increase your confidence operating in a VUCA world

To deepen your understanding of the complexity and context of the operational environment that planners work in, you’ll learn about policymaking and its impact on urban mobility planning.

This knowledge will help you gain the skills and confidence to operate effectively in a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) world.

Learn how to select the right tools for urban and transportation planning

Throughout the course, you’ll discover different ways to engage with all stakeholders.

You’ll learn how to select the right communicative and participatory planning tools and how to apply them in planning processes. You’ll also identify the best practices for social media engagement from a planning point of view.

Through this examination, you’ll be able to reflect on your own work and understand how to apply these tools to your project.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills to make your engagement process smoother and understand how to spread this knowledge among your team for more effective practices.
