With guidance from the experts at NHS Leadership Academy, you’ll discover how you can make the most out of life-long learning opportunities in everyday workplace situations.

The course will also help you prepare for the NHS Leadership Academy’s Edward Jenner Leadership development programme.

Begin your journey of learning and development

You’ll develop an understanding of the process and levels of learning and development. This will help you determine your desired level of learning and articulate a learning goal to achieve.

Exploring the different levels at which you learn, you’ll go through the five discoveries you need to make to learn with purpose and for lasting change.

You’ll also understand the challenges you could face in your learning journey and identify ways to overcome them.

Gain support for your learning goals in the workplace

The course will help you make the most out of your development opportunities by understanding how to gather support from your manager and colleagues to maximise your growth.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and skills to start your journey of learning and development in the workplace.

      What is the workplace you want to be a part of? What is your ideal role in it? In this activity, we'll explore why we want to develop and grow and the impact our learning might have.

    • Learning and experimenting

      Learning can be much more than remembering ideas or following steps to master a new skill. We can also choose to learn at different levels and radically grow.

  • Week 2

    Planning to learn

    • Defining a learning contract with myself

      Make five discoveries in order to plan to learn well and make change stick.
