Circles of inclusion

‘Teaching that engages students in learning that is meaningful, relevant and accessible to all, embracing a view of the individual and of individual difference as a source of diversity that can enrich the lives and learning of others.’ (Hockings, 2010)]

The circles (forming a Venn diagram shown below) provide you with a basic view of how inclusion should be central to the creation of learning objectives that need to take into account students’ diverse needs.

They also need to allow for flexible instructional styles that can remove barriers and offer accessibility, ease of use with appropriate learning outcomes and modes of assessment.
