Introduction to Machine Learning on AWS

Gain the knowledge and tools to navigate Amazon Web Services (AWS) and begin using machine learning services.

Discover how you can use machine learning through AWS

Through AWS, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning can all work with existing applications to make some improvements in a business’s user experience or the business needs of their application.

On this two-week course from AWS Training and Certification, you’ll gain an introductory look at artificial intelligence and machine learning through the lens of Amazon Web Services.

Explore a full range of AWS services utilising machine learning

You’ll learn about a range of services that do the heavy lifting of computer vision, data extraction and analysis, language processing, speech recognition, translation, ML model training and virtual agents.

Then, you’ll begin to think about your current solutions and see where you can improve these solutions using AI, ML or Deep Learning.

Learn from the experts at AWS Training and Certification

Since 2006, Amazon Web Services has been the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 90 fully featured services in a number of areas.

Having been created by experts at AWS Training and Certification, this course is the go-to way to develop your knowledge and understanding of Machine Learning on AWS.

Skip to 0 minutes and 1 second [Russ] Hello, I’m Russ, and (upbeat music) this is the Introduction to Machine Learning on AWS course. In this course, we take an introductory look at artificial intelligence and machine learning. This course is intended for software developers taking their first steps with the AWS services that do a lot of the heavy lifting of machine learning for you. We use services to do tasks that you may have traditionally required a person to do. Identifying labels and images, translating languages, transcribing texts from audio, and more. We wrap up the course with a quick introduction to training and hosting your own machine learning models with Amazon SageMaker. So, come join me to take your next steps with machine learning on AWS.

Syllabus

  • Week 1

Using AWS machine learning services for computer vision, data extraction and analysis, and language processing

    • Welcome to the Course

In this section you will learn about the format of this course and define common machine learning terminology.

    • Computer Vision

In this section, you will be introduced to Week 1 topics. You will also learn about Amazon Rekognition for computer vision and get hands-on with your first exercise.

    • Data Extraction and Analysis

In this section you will learn about Amazon Textract—a service that extracts text, handwriting, and data from scanned documents.

    • Language Processing

In this section, you will learn about Amazon Comprehend, which is used to extract language features of a document (such as entities and sentiment). You also see how to train classifier and entity recognizers.

    • Week 1 Reading and Assessment

In this section, you will have access to additional resources to help further your learning. You will also have an opportunity to test your knowledge of the topics that were covered so far in the course with an assessment.

  • Week 2

Using AWS machine learning services for speech recognition, language translation, and virtual agents

    • Speech Recognition

In this section, you will be introduced to the concepts that will be covered in Week 2 of this course. You will also learn about Amazon Transcribe.

    • Language Translation

In this section, you learn about features that can automatically translate text between different languages.

    • Virtual Agents

In this section, you will learn about the components that are used to create a virtual agent: bots, intents, and slots. Then, you will learn how to fulfill an intent by using an AWS Lambda function.

    • Build, Train, and Deploy Machine Learning Models

In this section, you learn about Amazon SageMaker—a fully managed machine learning service that you can use to build, train, and deploy machine learning models.

    • Week 2 Reading and Assessment

In this section, you will have access to additional resources to help further your learning. You will also have an opportunity to test your knowledge of the topics that were covered so far in the course with an assessment.
