I’m right now, the associate dean of the College of Management and also a professor at the Department of Management Science at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. also known as NYCU. In this course, we’re going to talk about the overall structure of the semiconductor industry. We’re going to introduce all kinds of different companies in this sector, including the fabulous, the Foundry, and also IDM. And we’re going to introduce the major suppliers of companies in this industry. Then after the first part, you’re going to understand the structure of semiconductor industry very will.

And in the second part we’re going to introduce the servitization business model, which is a very special type of business model. Transformation from product production, product sales to services offerings.       Taking Air Liquide as a case study, it developed an ozone-based alternative and new product that made it look like a far-sighted company, but customers did not accept the strategy due to high costs.
