At the beginning of this course, you’ll explore the unique challenges and opportunities of rural entrepreneurship by examining the external factors influencing rural businesses and how to foster an entrepreneurial mindset.

You’ll then explore the importance of networks and theories surrounding opportunities in rural settings so that you are equipped with the knowledge to identify and leverage potential avenues for business growth and development.

Learn the essential accounting skills needed to successfully launch and grow a rural start-up

Immerse yourself in the intricacies of budgetary accounting to enable you to make informed financial decisions and effectively manage resources.

By the end of the course, you’ll have gained a large repertoire of accounting and business management terms, such as cash flow, depreciation, gross margins, and deadstock, and you’ll know how to apply each of these in practice with confidence and proficiency.

    What is an Entrepreneur?

      This is an introduction to Rural Entrepreneurship, we'll learn about what is an Entrepreneur, and how it might apply to a Rural Setting.

  • Week 2

    Agricultural Entrepreneurship

    • Agricultural Entrepreneurship

      We will now look at what it means to be an entrepreneur in agriculture and at what successful entrepreneurial ventures might look like here.

  • Week 3

    Managing Change

    • Managing Change

      This part of the course will aim to highlight the strategies around Managing Change, and the way that this applies to both agricultural and non-agricultural businesses.

  • Week 4

    Introduction to Budgetary Accounting

    • Introduction to Budgetary Accounting

      The final week of this course is an introduction to budgetary accounting.
