Learn how to apply a variety of training methods for the appropriate context

This course will feature two key foci. The first explores training evaluation, and best practices to create actionable information. We explore some of the key theories and methodologies used to inform training evaluation.

The second explores training transfer and its issues in turning training into performance. Here we consider the individual, team and organisational barriers to transfer.

What topics will you cover?

  • Key training evaluation models eg Kirkpatrick and systems-based approaches. Discuss different evaluation types eg pre-post designs
  • Role of technology
  • Training transfer. What are the barriers to performance when performance has been enacted?

  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of how training can be evaluated, and the implications of this in practice
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of the barriers to learning transfer and the ways in which training can lead to organisational outcomes
