Develop your knowledge of contemporary issues in nursing

This program critically interprets the role of the nurse within socio-cultural, economic and political contexts. You will explore the nature and application of the knowledge base for nursing practice and analyse the contribution of the nurse to health in a range of settings.

You will use research findings in conjunction with your own experiences to examine factors which may influence nursing practice, including organisation of healthcare, professional regulation and autonomy, professional culture and identity.

  • Evaluate the development and application of findings from multiple sources of evidence to the organisation and delivery of nursing care
  • Examine critically the impact and potential of policy and interventions on care quality in nursing within an identified national context
  • Critically analyse the influence of social organisation on professional nursing practice
