Thomas Tieyre

has completed the following course:

The Science of Nutrition

The Open University

This course covered the components of food and how they are digested using enzymes. It looked at food labelling and how energy obtained from food is measured. It considered healthy eating advice in the UK and elsewhere and why there are ever increasing levels of obesity in the world. The course took a scientific approach, covering some basic physics, chemistry and biology, and a little maths. There were some optional experiments to do, using easily available materials, to support understanding.
