Topics to be addressed in this unit include: key debates in gender and development (human rights, feminisation of poverty, gender roles, historical treatment of gender and development); major theories of gender and power; and case studies (gender-based violence, gender and economic participation, health and reproduction, education).

Who will you learn with?

Dr Maree Pardy, is an anthropologist and lectures in Community and International Development. She researches and publishes in the areas of gender & cultural diversity, human rights and global change.

Dr Francesca Bussey is an educator and researcher specialising in curriculum and digital innovation. She is fascinated by the role of education and digital technologies in social transformation.
