Your study group

Learning and interacting together is an important part of taking a Futurelearn course. On Inside IELTS you can do that in two ways:

  • By adding comments and replying to other people in each step
  • By joining a study group

How to join a study group

To join a study group, simply click on the ‘Study group’ icon near the top of this step.

In your study group you will learn together with around 80 other learners, and we hope you will get to know the people in your study group during the course. As you go through the course, you can discuss topics together with your group. Educators won’t join your study group, but we will send you some topics to discuss each week.

Learning in groups is a powerful way to share knowledge, experience and ideas. Learning together can help you to understand the course more deeply, and it’s a great opportunity to practise using English!

Study groups are optional, although we highly recommend you join one. If you wish to leave a study group then you can do so by clicking on ‘leave group’ on the top right of the study group page. After you have left a group you can join another group at any time.

In the group please follow the code of conduct as you do on the rest of FutureLearn.

We hope you enjoy learning with your study group!

Note from the FutureLearn team, added 9 January: We have recently made some improvements to Study Groups. If you had trouble joining a Study Group, please try again now. If your Study Group is not active, remember that you can leave your group and join a new one at any point.
