Welcome to the first topic of Family, Societal and Cultural Influences on Children’s Mental Wellbeing. Throughout the course of this three-week topic, we will be exploring what culture is, how experiences of childhood differ between cultural groups, and how an individual’s culture can shape how mental ill health is understood.

The learning over the next three weeks will help to support you with assignment learning outcome one, which is to “critically evaluate evidence for cultural differences in children’s wellbeing”.
