Explore how data visualisation reveals patterns in financial data. Learn charting techniques, the role of structure and flow, and how to use Sankey diagrams effectively by organising data for impactful visual storytelling.
Week 2
Story Design, Visualisation, and Application
Lesson 4: Storytelling Design Techniques
Learn to craft compelling data stories using classic story arcs, character development, and audience-focused techniques. Use templates and tools to map story flow and refine messages for clarity, impact, and business relevance.
Lesson 5: Using Python to Create Data Visualizations
Use Python and generative AI in Google Colab to create financial data visualizations. Compare them to Sankey diagrams and refine visuals to highlight structure, flow, and insights that support clear, compelling storytelling.
Lesson 6: Delivering Financial Advice with Engaging Data Stories
Apply storytelling techniques in a financial advisory case study. Learn to frame, design, and deliver a data story using structured steps, transforming raw financial data into a compelling narrative that resonates with clients.
Lesson 7: Wrap-Up and Capstone
