Discover the benefits of Takaful insurance
Takaful is an Islamic insurance system devised to comply with shariah laws. We shall discuss the principles and concepts of takaful for you to develop a strong foundational knowledge of the subject. Although the course highlights the framework, products and how family takaful works in Malaysia, the same concepts as well principles may also be adopted and applied throughout the world.
In this three-week course, you’ll gain an understanding of family takaful and its benefits to help you make informed decisions about your family’s financial planning and protection.

Week 1
Introduction to Family Takaful
Welcome to the course
A warm welcome to the course from the educator! This course will be facilitated for a week from the launch date (24th July 2023).
Introduction to Family Takaful
You will learn briefly about the features of Family Takaful such as the concepts of Family Takaful, and who manages Family Takaful funds and how the funds are administered.
Individual Life Cycle in Financial Risk Planning
You will learn about the major stages of the human life cycle and how each life cycle influences the financial risk planning.
Summary and Reflection for Week 1
In learning about the concept and principles of takaful, you are exposed to some ideas about the features of takaful.
Week 2
Family Takaful Products
Family Takaful Product: Protection Only
You will learn on Family Takaful products which focuses on protection only. The protection-only products are Term Takaful, Whole Life Takaful and Mortgage Reducing Takaful.
Family Takaful Products: Protection and Savings Investment Only
You will learn on Family Takaful Products which focuse on protection and savings/investment. The products are Endowment Takaful, Investment linked Takaful and Child Education Takaful.
Family Takaful Products: Medical and Health Takaful
You will learn on Family Takaful coverage which are Medical and Health Takaful. The Medical and Health Takaful products are Hospitalization Takaful and Critical Illness Takaful.

A summary and reflection on what was learnt in week 2.

Making the Right Fit
Making the right fit
You will learn how to choose the right Family Takaful plan and how to determine the amount of Family Takaful coverage.
