Summary of Week 2
We have now reached the end of Week 2.
We now know more about the foundation and principles of humanitarian work, and the concepts surrounding coordination of healthcare in emergency settings. We should also have a clearer picture of programme-specific health interventions and the challenges faced in their implementation.
Next week we will look at the future of humanitarianism, focusing on how the humanitarian system may need to adapt to cope with the changing realities of modern emergencies. We will explore emerging innovations and technologies, debate changing trends in health needs, and highlight different sectors of the humanitarian system and how they will work in the future.
Next week’s activities are available now, but if you decide to look at them now you may want to return to the comments area of each step in order to speak to other learners and offer your thoughts and opinions about the content.
As with last week, we are pulling together any common points or key themes within your discussions, and a summary document in response to these will be added to the Downloads section at the bottom of this page. All material from this course is downloadable from our Open Study Platform.
