Skip to 0 minutes and 4 secondsHello, and welcome to the final week of the Informed Health Consumer. Our focus this week is risk. What are your risk factors? How do you find them out? How are those risk factors presented in the media? What we'll be trying to do is to give you an understanding of risk and how that risk is determined by research. Thank you to everyone who's been adding content to Flipboard. Keep doing it. Please, keep checking what's been added, and we look forward to seeing more this week.

Introduction to Week 4

In the final week of the course, we consider research looking at risk.

How do we decide what our risk of getting a particular disease or condition is likely to be? It’s problematic because its extremely difficult to identify cause and effect. We’ll be looking at some of the issues and giving you some questions you can ask.

Our final case study examines smoking and lung cancer and draws together issues raised throughout the course.
