Extracts from 'Black Rainbow' by Rachel Kelly
In the following step, we’ll be talking to the writer Rachel Kelly, whose memoir Black Rainbow recalls her own experience of depression, and describes how poems helped her to recover when other treatments proved ineffective.
Rachel has kindly allowed us to share some extracts from her book, which you can download by following the link below. We suggest that you might like to read these extracts before listening to our conversation with Rachel, although this is not essential. You can find out more about Rachel’s book Black Rainbow here.
Rachel is now a mental health campaigner, who runs poetry workshops in conjunction with a number of different organisations and charities. If you’d like to know more about Rachel’s work, and her other publications, you can explore her website by following this link: http://rachel-kelly.net/.
