Discussion

Using the Discussion below, what are your thoughts about living alone and integrated palliative care?

You may wish to consider the following questions:

  1. What, for you, would be the essential components of a support network for someone living alone at home in the last year of life?

  2. Who is ‘in charge’ of decision making about care at home in the last year of life?

  3. What is the point at which care at home becomes untenable for someone alone at home in the last year of life? And whose decision should this be?
