You’ll explore Power BI Service and learn how to publish reports from Power BI Desktop. Along the way, you’ll discover how enterprise reporting supports better collaboration, governance, and data-driven decision-making.

Manage Power BI Service and cloud reporting

Learn how to administer reports throughout their lifecycle using the features available in Power BI Service. You’ll configure gateways and scheduled refresh, monitor usage metrics, create Apps for report distribution, and explore deployment pipelines to manage reports across development, test, and production environments.

You’ll also gain an introduction to Power BI Embedded Analytics and discover how organisations deliver secure, cloud-based reporting to users while maintaining control over data access and report performance.

Create paginated reports and deploy Power BI solutions

Not every business report is interactive. You’ll learn when to use Power BI Report Builder to create pixel-perfect paginated reports for operational documents such as invoices, statements, and structured reports.

You’ll then explore Power BI Report Server, learning how to deploy and manage both interactive and paginated reports in on-premises environments. By comparing cloud and on-premises deployment strategies, you’ll understand how organisations build flexible enterprise reporting solutions that meet a wide range of business and technical requirements.

- Beginning Your Power BI Service Journey
  Discover how Power BI Service supports cloud-based reporting, collaboration, and enterprise analytics, and understand how it extends the capabilities of Power BI Desktop.
- Exploring the Power BI Service Environment
  Explore the Power BI Service environment, core components, and workspaces, and learn how to organise and manage reporting content for effective collaboration.
- Publish and Explore Business Insights
  Publish reports from Power BI Desktop, create and customise dashboards, and use analytical features such as Quick Insights and Q&A to explore business data.
- Sharing and Collaborating with Power BI Service
  Learn how to share reports securely, manage permissions, distribute content through Apps, and monitor usage to support controlled enterprise collaboration.
Week 2
Enterprise Data Connectivity and Solution Deployment
- Building Enterprise Data Connectivity
  Explore Power BI connectivity modes and learn how to connect enterprise reporting solutions to SQL Server, cloud data sources, web services, and APIs for reliable data access.
- Managing Dataflows, Gateways, and Refresh
  Learn how to use Dataflows, on-premises data gateways, and scheduled refresh to maintain reliable, reusable, and up-to-date data across Power BI environments.
- Deploying and Extending Power BI Solutions
  Explore how enterprise Power BI solutions are delivered and scaled using mobile reporting, deployment pipelines, Dev/Test/Prod lifecycle management, and Power BI Embedded Analytics.
Week 3
Paginated and On-Premises Enterprise Reporting
- Setting Up and Managing Power BI Report Server
  Explore Power BI Report Server, its on-premises reporting capabilities, setup process, web portal, and options for managing and integrating enterprise reporting content.
- Building Paginated Reports with Power BI Report Builder
  Build structured paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder, apply effective formatting, and publish reports to Report Server for enterprise distribution and consumption.
