Identify the mood 1

Please consider the differing moods suggested by these two palettes of colour:

Palette 1 - muted grey blues

Palette 2 - fully-saturated brights

Please share your analysis of these palettes in the discussion space. Consider the following in your comments:

  • Using colour terminology such as hue, value, saturation, shade, tint, complement, harmony, tone and accent, please compare and contrast the nature of the colours selected for these two compositions.

  • If combinations of colour can be said to evoke mood, can you suggest adjectives to describe the mood bias of either or both compositions?

  • If these palettes of colour were to be adopted by a business as corporate colours, can you suggest what kind of business might choose palette 1, and what kind of business might choose palette 2? Where might you find colours like these adopted?
