Después de dar a luz, algunas mujeres tienen dificultades para acceder a recursos e información sobre su salud que sean fiables y adecuados. En este curso, encontrará consejos y estrategias sobre cómo priorizar su cuidado en el posparto y descubrirá cómo las mujeres pueden darse soporte mutuo durante este periodo.

Se abordarán los desafíos comunes en relación con la salud física y mental después del parto, y encontrará estrategias para cuidarse y recomendaciones sobre cuándo buscar atención médica profesional.

What topics will you cover?

¿Qué temas encontrarás?

  • Semana 1: Salud materna: se discuten mitos y conceptos erróneos sobre la salud materna. Se diferencia entre lo que es común y lo que es normal, y se dan consejos sobre cómo priorizar su salud en el posparto.
  • Semana 2: Salud física: se explicará qué es la incontinencia urinaria y anal, y se darán técnicas de entrenamiento muscular del suelo pélvico.
  • Semana 3: Salud mental: se explican algunos conceptos como la ansiedad y la depresión posparto, y se darán estrategias para visibilizar su red de apoyo social.
  • Semana 4: Salud sexual y relaciones: se discuten aspectos de la salud sexual relacionados con la sexualidad después del parto, la identificación de problemas de salud sexual o la detección de las situaciones de violencia de género.

Este curso está orientado a mujeres que están embarazadas, que están planificando un embarazo o que tuvieron un hijo o hija recientemente. Es también es ideal para cualquiera que esté interesado/a en la salud maternal durante el posparto, tanto matronas, como enfermeras/os o obstetras.

Actualmente es profesora en el grado de enfermería e investigadora en el campo de la salud sexual y reproductiva.

Cinny has worked in Women's Health for over 25 years and is the Physiotherapy Manager in the Rotunda Hospital. She regularly lectures at postgraduate level and has participated in published research.

I’m an Assistant Professor in Midwifery, School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin. I’ve worked as a midwife, midwife teacher & now maternal health researcher all my life & I love it.

Susan Hannon is a research assistant, project manager and now PhD student with the MAMMI Study in Trinity College Dublin, with research interests in the area of maternal mental health and resilience.
