Create a resource box

This is your opportunity to take what you have learnt from this week and create your own resource box. This could be to support a particular unit of the science curriculum or a more general resource box for all science activities.

Your resource box could include both physical and digital resources. For example you might like to produce a list of useful websites that could support a specific topic or investigation. Remember the focus for this activity is the resourcing of equipment to support practical enquiry, so links to digital resources may not be needed.

We’d like you to share your resource box ideas on the resource box Padlet Wall. This is an online pin-board which is an effective way to create and present many different types of contributions. You can also upload photos or videos. You do not need to register an account to post to Padlet, but please do add your name to anything you post. Guidance on how to use Padlet.

Create your resource box and share

  1. Create your resource box.
  2. Create a list of what is inside.
  3. If you can, take a photo or video of your resource box.
  4. Post your list of resources, plus your photo or video, to the resource box Padlet.

What’s special about your resource box?

Are there any special resources that you have included? It would be great for other participants to know where you have been able to source some of the resources you have in your box. Share in the comments below.

You could even ask parents and local businesses if they have any resources they could contribute to your boxes. For example, a local beekeeping group donated beekeeping equipment to a school along with a number of bee friendly seeds and identification charts. In another school, a parent who was a dentist, loaned a school dental inspection mirrors and teeth x rays for the children to use.
