Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana

Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB), located in Medellín, Colombia, is a highly recognized institution not only in the city, but also in the country due to its high-quality accreditation awarded by the Colombian Ministry of Education.

UPB was founded on September 17th 1936 with the name of Bolivarian Catholic University, later it acceded to the name of Pontificia Bolivariana on August 16th 1945 by decree signed in Rome.

UPB promotes integral development of human being as an ethical, social, rational, religious, artistic person, who gives a humanist sense of the environment through a process of continuous improvement.

In November 2010, UPB was granted through the High Quality Institutional Accreditation on the quality of the programs, organization, operation and the accomplishment of the social function.

UPB Language Center, founded more than twenty-five years ago and certified by Cervantes Institute for being a leading centre in the teaching of Spanish, has been serving the Spanish program for more than ten years to the international community and to the foreigners living in Colombia who are willing to live firsthand a cultural experience in the eternal spring city.  

The Spanish program welcomes students from different parts of the world who find our courses as their best choice to learn and improve their communicative competence in Spanish. This program has been spreading all over the world to countries such as: Vietnam, Indonesia, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Belize, among others.
