This program aims to provide an introduction to your final research project.

You will have the chance to understand the business, analytical and research skills needed to undertake a consultancy or dissertation project, and to receive guidance on producing the final report. You will also have the opportunity to use case studies to enhance your understanding of consultancy in real-world business contexts.

The program aims to enable you to deliver assigned projects in a timely and organised way, and to transfer your soft and hard skills to your CV and to your future work environment.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion, you should be able to:

  • Identify and justify a complex research question or business issue of relevance to your programme of study.

  • Critically evaluate the key concepts involved in the research project and identify and apply appropriate theories to form a coherent research proposal, including structured and focused research objectives appropriate for study at Postgraduate level.

  • Critically analyse, review and synthesise the relevant literature in your research project.

  • Critically evaluate and utilise appropriate research methodologies and methods, and demonstrate the principles of effective and ethical research design.

  • Conduct research, analyse, interpret and critically evaluate the data or information obtained, and present the analysis and findings of the research, demonstrating a deep knowledge of the specialist subject area.

  • Formulate realistic and appropriate conclusions and recommendations, including identifying recommendations for future policy and practice.
