Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion you should be able to:

  • Apply knowledge of how risk is constructed, interpreted and can be minimised using a range of risk management tools and techniques during a practical exercise

  • Critically evaluate and demonstrate a range of non-technical skills for incident and crisis managers in diverse settings.

  • Critically evaluate concepts associated with leadership and apply them to incident and crisis contexts.

  • Critically analyse a range of command and control principles, practices and terminologies used globally within operational, tactical, and strategic settings.

  • Evaluate approaches to identifying lessons post-incident and to leading lessons learnt, change and improvement.
