SMART Tourism and Responsible Travel

Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham Business School

We explored the global significance of international tourism. This led us to consider some of the debates against tourism and the reasons for the growing anti-travel movement. We considered the positive consequences that tourism can bring, and how Tourism can actually be seen as a force for good, so long as it is practiced responsibly. We finally explored how data and information about travel products and services, informs us to make responsible travel decisions through SMART tourism.
