Week 2

  • Introduction to body image in childhood and adolescence
  • Factors affecting children and young people’s body image, including psychological factors, family and social networks, ethnicity and culture, health conditions, disorders and disabilities, life changes and transitions, cosmetic procedures, and media and technology.

Week 3

  • Introduction to supporting children and young people with their body image
  • Recognising the early signs and behaviours
  • Personal actions as professionals
  • Conversations about cosmetic procedures
  • Supporting children and young people in education
  • Supporting children and young people at home
  • Supporting children and young people in policy
