Master the essentials of chronic myeloid leukaemia

Unlock a clear understanding of chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) with this three-week course designed for healthcare professionals and medical students.

You’ll explore CML’s pathogenesis, diagnosis, and clinical manifestations, alongside the most effective treatment options and emerging therapeutic strategies to better manage and care for patients with this condition.

Understand the pathogenesis and clinical presentation of CML

Dive into the fundamentals of CML, examining the underlying pathogenesis and clinical presentation of the disease.

You’ll cover diagnostic methods, including full blood picture preparation, bone marrow aspiration, and cytogenetic analysis.

Next, you’ll discover how to diagnose and interpret key laboratory tests through case studies and discussions on prognostic stratification.

Learn the treatment strategies for managing CML

As you progress through the course, you’ll explore the role of haematopoietic stem cell transplants and the importance of patient compliance to ensure treatment success.

Focusing on CML treatment strategies, including the role of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors (TKIs) and other emerging therapies, you’ll understand the mechanisms of action of TKIs and the management of newly diagnosed CML.

With this knowledge, you’ll understand treatment milestones, second-line therapies, and future developments in CML management.

Explore supportive care and treatment adherence for CML patients

The course will focus on supportive care of CML patients, such as managing side effects from TKIs and addressing the needs of patients who wish to start a family.

With quizzes and practical insights, you’ll learn how to manage patient care effectively, ensuring treatment adherence and optimal outcomes.

Skip to 0 minutes and 9 seconds What if a single genetic mutation could change the course of someone’s life? What if science could stop cancer in its tracks? Not with chemotherapy, but with a pill? What if you could be part of the next chapter in transforming how we understand and treat blood cancer? Welcome to the online Masterclass on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, or CML. An in-depth journey into one of the most significant breakthroughs in hematology. CML is a type of blood cancer that begins in the bone marrow. It’s often marked by high white blood cell counts caused by an acquired genetic mutation. But this isn’t just another cancer story. CML is one of the first cancers treated with targeted therapy.

Skip to 0 minutes and 58 seconds The introduction of Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors, or TKI’s, has dramatically improved both survival rates and quality of life for CML patients. In this course, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the biology of CML, how to diagnose and monitor it effectively, current and emerging treatment approaches and the latest updates from CML research and clinical trials. Whether you are a clinician, pathologist, medical student, researcher or other allied health care professionals, this course is to build, to sharpen your knowledge and strengthen your skill. Join us as we explore the science, the breakthroughs, and the future of CML care. Your journey into transformative hematology begins here.
